What to Expect

Sacrament Meeting Overview

Our main worship service lasts about one hour. Here's what a typical Sunday looks like.

1
0:00 – 0:05

Opening Hymn & Prayer

The congregation sings a hymn together from the hymnbook. A member offers an opening prayer. You can sit anywhere β€” there are no assigned seats.

2
0:05 – 0:07

Ward Business

Brief announcements, new members welcomed, and callings (volunteer assignments) are presented for a sustaining vote.

3
0:07 – 0:22

The Sacrament

A hymn is sung while the sacrament (communion) is blessed and passed to the congregation. Bread represents the body of Christ; water represents His blood. This is the most sacred part of the meeting.

4
0:22 – 0:48

Congregation Speakers

Two to three members of the congregation share prepared messages on gospel topics. Speakers are selected from the congregation β€” everyday members, not paid clergy. They are given time to prepare and speak from the heart.

5
0:48 – 0:50

Musical Number (if scheduled)

Sometimes a choir, soloist, or small group performs a musical number. Not every week β€” but when it happens, it's a beautiful moment of worship through music.

6
0:50 – 0:55

Closing Hymn & Prayer

One final hymn is sung by the congregation, followed by a closing prayer to end the meeting.

A Few Things to Know

No Clapping

You won't hear applause during our services. We believe worship should be reverent, and we express appreciation through quiet reflection rather than clapping. This helps maintain a sacred, peaceful atmosphere where everyone can feel the Spirit.

Sit Anywhere

There are no assigned pews or seats. Sit wherever you feel comfortable β€” up front, in the back, near the aisle. You're free to come and go as needed.

A Lay Ministry

No one is paid. The bishop, speakers, teachers, and everyone who serves does so voluntarily. Speakers are members of the congregation who are asked to prepare messages on gospel topics. They are given time to pray, study, and prepare.

Hymns We Sing

We sing traditional Christian hymns from our hymnbook β€” songs about faith, Jesus Christ, gratitude, and service. Hymnbooks are provided in the pews. Sometimes a choir or musical number is featured, but most weeks the congregation sings together.
