About the Elders Quorum
The Elders Quorum is the men's organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, composed of ordained men who hold the Melchizedek Priesthood. It exists in every ward and is led by an Elders Quorum President and his counselors.
Members work together to help accomplish God's work of salvation and exaltation. They serve others, fulfill priesthood duties, build unity, and support one another as brothers in the gospel. The quorum is both a brotherhood and a mission force — men who are committed to righteousness at home, at church, and in the world.

Priesthood Responsibilities
The Duties of an Elder
Serve Others
Elders quorum members are called to serve members and neighbors with moving assistance, home repairs, welfare support, and Christlike friendship.
Fulfill Priesthood Duties
Members administer priesthood ordinances, bless the sick, give father's blessings, and consecrate oil — sacred duties that bless the congregation.
Build Unity
A brotherhood of men united by covenant. Elders quorum meetings, activities, and service projects create bonds that strengthen the entire ward.
Minister to Families
Every man is assigned families to minister to — visiting, calling, and genuinely caring about their temporal and spiritual wellbeing.
Proclaim the Gospel
Men of the Melchizedek Priesthood are called to share the gospel with their neighbors, participate in missionary discussions, and welcome investigators.
Care for the Poor
Elders quorum coordinates welfare assistance, fast offerings, and Bishop's storehouse resources to bless those in temporal need.
